BODY AWARENESS through MOVEMENT
*Movement Education, body work for self-care, awakening the body's organicity using somatic techniques and artistic approaches to develop body mind awareness. (private/corporate, workshop/classes)
*Contemporary Dance with an infusion of Yoga, Tai Chi, connecting body/mind/spirit.
Movement Awareness Class
Principle: An organic movement exploration, like a flowing meditation, based on various techniques and body approaches (Dance, Butoh, Vinayasa Flow Yoga, Tai chi, Chi Qong, martial arts, somatics, massage, Laban movement analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Kinesiology) with a special focus on energy, the idea of economy of effort initiated by natural breathing.
Curriculum: We will focus on awakening body tonicity and fluidity, working in synergy with the floor, stimulating the awareness of space, weight, centeredness, energy flow, connections, grounding. Slow focused movement phrases, massage and yoga/dance stretching. We will explore movement in solo or work with one or multiple partners. We will seek our own body mechanics experiencing kinesthetic perceptions, explore the wide array of sensations and feelings the body has to offer, opening all the senses and move intuitively to just ... be in the present moment, listening to the present body.
This dynamic restorative approach helps to develop a sense of well-being and harmony, refine one's perception of body volume/shape, find the inner creative body resources, learn self-care tools.
Body Awareness through movement also brings about balance, postural alignment, coordination, flexibility, focus, alertness, calming the mind, soothing the spirit and energizing the body.
No prior body/movement/dance experience necessary.

Contemporary Dance
Influenced by various technical approaches and styles of dance that she came across with, the class will focus on awakening body tonicity and fluidity, working in synergy with the floor, stimulating the awareness of space, weight, centeredness, energy flow along with a conscious breathing. A series of danced exercises will be proposed for body alignment, grounding, balance, release, dissociation, musicality, supported by ballet/contemporary dance technique, Tai Chi, yoga, somatic based techniques (bodywork, kinesiology, Laban movement analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals), followed by a final dance phrase.
Beginner/Intermediate level. Fundamentals of contemporary techniques will be taught with an emphasis on movement quality and body awareness.
